Electronics is a multidisciplinary journal designed to appeal to a diverse audience of research scientists, practitioners, and developers in academia and industry. Yousaf Bin Zikria (Senior Member, IEEE) is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Yeungnam University, South Korea. Dieter Bimberg received the Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France, until 1979. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of Nanophotonics. He was holding guest professorships at the Technion, Haifa, U.C. Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah 2012-2018. In 2018 he assumed the directorship of the “Bimberg Chinese German Center for Green Photonics” at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina,the EU Academy of Sciences, a ForeignMember of the Russian Academy of Sciences,the US Academies of Engineering and of Inventors, a Life Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE. He is recipient of multiple international awards, like the UNESCO Nanoscience Award, the Max-Born Award and Medal of IoP and DPG, the Heinrich-Welker-Award, the Nick Holonyak Jr. Award, the Japanese Oyo Buturi Award of Applied Physics, the Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal and Award of IEEE, and the Stern-Gerlach Award of DPG, to mention a few. He received honorary doctorates of the University of Lancaster, UK, and the St.Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has authored more than 1600 papers, 61 patents, and six books. The number of times his research works has been cited exceeds 64,000 and his Hirsch factor is 112 (@ Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices, and energy efficient data communication.

Jannick Rolland is the Brian J. Thompson Professor of Optical Engineering at the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester and CTO of LighTopTech, she co-founded. At the University of Rochester, she is the Director of the NSF I/UCRC Center for Freeform Optics (CeFO) that focuses on graduate education and Director of the R.E. Hopkins Center for Optical Design and Engineering that engages undergraduates in optical design, fabrication, and metrology. She earned a Diploma from the Institut D'Optique in 1984, and MS (1985) and PhD (1990) degrees in optical science from the University of Arizona. As a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she focused on learning vision and computer graphics while designing stereoscopic head-worn displays for medical visualization. She also headed the Vision Research Group for Medical Displays (1992-1996). In 1996, she joined the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida (1996-2008) where she built the Optical Diagnostics and Applications Laboratory (ODALab). In 2009, she joined the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester as the Brian J. Thompson Professor of Optical Engineering. Professor Rolland served on the editorial board of the Journal Presence (MIT Press) (1996-2006), associate editor of Optical Engineering (1999-2004), and is currently associate editor of Optics Letters. She is a fellow of Optica, SPIE, and NYSTAR. She is the recipient of the 2014 OSA David Richardson Medal and the 2017 Edmund A. Hajim Outstanding Faculty Award.

Dr. Takayoshi Kobayashi is presently working as a professor in the Department of electro physics at National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan and also working as a specially appointed professor of the University of Electro-Communications, Japan. He had received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He has membership in reputational societies. He is the recipient of number of honors for his scientific achievements. He also has a number of publications in the field of Nanoscience.

Dr. Wei Chen is a professor at the department of Physics, UT Arlington. Currently he has published more than 317 papers in famous academic journals such as PNAS, Nano Letters, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy(Nature), Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Materials Today Physics, Bioactive Materials, etc. presided over the compilation of one book, one monograph (three volumes), and participated in the compilation of 13 monographs. His papers have been cited more than 12800 times, and his H index is 60, including one paper with 714 citations, 4 papers with more than 500 citations,13 papers with more than 200 times, 30 papers with more than 100 times. Volker J. Sorger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the director of the Devices & Intelligent Systems Laboratory at The George Washington University. His research areas include devices & optoelectronics, AI/ML accelerators, mixed-signal ASICs, quantum matter & quantum processors, and cryptography. For his work, Dr. Sorger has received multiple awards,including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the Air Force Office of Scientific Research's Young Investigator Research Program Award, the Emil Wolf Prize, and the National Academy of Sciences Best Annual Paper Award. Dr. Sorger is an associate editor for the journal OPTICA and the former editor-in-chief of the journal Nanophotonics. He was named a 2022 Optica Fellow (formerly The Optical Society) and a 2022 SPIE Fellow, as well as he's a Fellow of the German National Academic Foundation and a Senior Member of IEEE. In 2020, Dr. Sorger co-founded the deep-tech venture company

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interests include intelligent photonics, optical communications and networking, optical interconnect, detection, imaging and display technology, integrated photonics, free-space and fiber optics. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >9,000 citations, four edited books, >50 issued or pending patents, >100 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial, >10 plenary and >30 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, and an Editor Board Member for three other scientific journals. He also served as Guest Editor for eight journal special issues, Chair or Committee Member for >60 international conferences, Reviewer for >60 prestigious journals.

Dr. Wei is currently a principle researcher at Huawei German Research Center. He received a PhD from the University of Wales in 2010. Dr. Wei’s research interests include optics communications, photonics switching/signal processing, advanced modulation/coding, digital signal processing, algorithms, and machine learning. He edited one book and (co-)authored over 170 peer-reviewed journal/conference papers including more than 16 invited. He holds several US/European patents. Dr. Wei is a Marie Curie fellow and a senior member of IEEE.

Prof. Hugo Águas is Assistant Professor at the Materiais Science Department of Faculty of Science and Technology of New University of Lisbon and researcher at CENIMAT:I3N. He finished his PhD in 2005 with the thesis: “Deposition of amorphous and polymorphous silicon by PECVD and their application to Schottky and MIS photodiodes for position sensitive detectors”. His current research interests are in the field of thin film photovoltaic materials; solar tiles; microfluidics; microfabrication; nanomaterials; plasmonic materials; SERS substrates and biosensors. Paulo S. André (born in 1971, male) got the bachelor’s in physics engineering (1996), the PhD in physics (2002), and the Agregação (habilitation) in physics from the Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal. Currently, he is Full Professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon and is senior researcher and member of the management board for the Lisbon branch of the Instituto de Telecomunicações. Since 2019 he is the vice director of the Department of electronics engineering and member of scientific council of the Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. He has published around 300 papers in magazines, 600 conference communications and 20 books/books chapters (>6000 citations, h-index=45, Google scholar) and 10 patents. His current research interests include the study and simulation of photonic and optoelectronic components and systems for telecommunication, sensing and energy applications. Dr. Bin Chen earned his Ph.D. degree at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in 2002. After his postdoctoral studies supported by the Japan Society for Promotion Science, he came back to Xi’an Jiaotong University and he is currently a full professor and vice director at State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Power Engineering. Dr. Chi-Ping Li received his PhD of Materials Science from Colorado School of Mines (USA) in 2014 and followed by postdoctoral research in National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL, USA) in 2015. He joined Department of Chemical Engineering in National United University in Taiwan as an assistant professor in 2018. His research interests are mainly focused on synthesis of nanostructured films, nanocomposite films and nanoparticles. Those materials are used in electrochromic windows, lithium batteries, organic photovoltaics and LED encapsulants. His goal is to overcome the challenges and produce great but low cost materials in the fields of green and renewable energy.

Dr. Xiuliang Jin was introduced in 2019 as a Young Talent of Class A of the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is a professor and doctoral tutor and a head of crop phenotypic innovation research group. He mainly engages in crop phenotyping identification and precision agriculture. Antonio Teixeira, obtained his PhD from the University of Aveiro in 1999, partially developed at the University of Rochester, USA. He also holds an EC in management and leadership from the MIT Sloan School. He has been a professor at the University of Aveiro since 1999, and is currently an associate professor with aggregation. He worked at Nokia Siemens Networks from 2009-2013 and at Coriant 2013-14 as a standardization agent in access networks (FSAN, ITU-T, IEEE 802.3). since 2014, he has assumed the coordination of the doctoral school of the University of Aveiro, responsible for coordinating 48 doctoral programs and more than 1300 students. He has published over 400 articles, of which over 120 in recognized journals, co-edited a book and contributed to many others. He has 8 patents, and (co-) supervised over 60 Masters and 14 PhD students, and participated in more than 35 projects from different sources of funding (national, European and international). Alexei A. Kamshilin received the Master degree from Leningrad State University (1974), the Ph.D. degree from the A. F. Ioffe Physical Technical Institute (1982), and the D.Sc. degree from the Vavilov State Optical Institute (1995). His academic carrier started, in 1974, in USSR, continued in Brazil, from 1990 to 1992, then in Finland, from 1992 to 2014, where he was researching and teaching in different universities of Finland. From 2014 to 2020, he was a Professor with ITMOUniversity, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since 2020, he has been the Chief Scientist with the Institute of Automation and Control Processes, Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladivostok, Russia. His research interests include nonlinear and coherent optics, photorefractive and photo-galvanic effects, optical sensors technology, adaptive interferometry, and multispectral imaging for biomedical and industrial applications. In these fields, he has published more than 260 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Senior Member of the OPTICA (formerlyOptical Society of America).

Weili Zhang received B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in communication engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. From 09/2008 to 10/2010, he was working as a research fellow in School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From 09/2016 to 09/2017, he was working as a visiting scholar in Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen University, Demark. He began to work in University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as an associated professor since November 2010, and as a professor since 2016. His research interests include random and chaos lasers, microcavity lasers, smart light control and imaging applications. He has authored/coauthored over 100 papers published in refereed professional journals and national and international conferences, he filled 10 patents and published one monograph, his paper gained 2600+ citations, and his H-index is 31. He won the 2nd prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education, and won the 1st prize of National Photoelectric Design Competition. Dr. Zhang was in the editorial board committee of Optical and Quantum Electronics and is in the editorial board committee of Photonics Sensors.

Xuhui Sun received his B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees from Tsinghua University, China, in 1993 and 1996, respectively, and Ph.D. degree in material science from the City University of Hong Kong in 2002. He performed postdoctoral research at University of Western Ontario in 2003 and joined NASA Ames Research Center in 2005 as a postdoctoral scholar. Before joined Institute of Nano Functional & Soft Materials (FUNSOM), Soochow University in 2009 as a professor, he was a research scientist at Advanced Studies Lab, NASA Ames Research Center. His research interests are focused in the area of the nanomaterials and their applications in sensors and energy harvesting (including nanogenerator, Li ion batteries, solar water splitting). He is also interested in the development and application of synchrotron radiation techniques in nanomaterials study. He has published over 180 papers in high impact journals such as Chem. Rev., JACS., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, etc., 5 book chapters, and held 3 US patents and 14 Chinese patents. He has been PI or co-PI of a number of projects from the nation basic research program (973 Program), the national high-tech R&D Program (863 Program) and National Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

Paolo Branchini is with I.N.F.N (National Institute of Nuclear Physics Research). He has authored more than 900 papers (H-index>93) in the High Energy Field. He has covered leading roles in many national and international collaborations in the field of High Energy Physics. He has also been the Primary Investigator for the MUSA experiment and the PERSEPOLY experiment where he exploited his know-how in data acquisition and trigger systems in the field of cultural heritage. Dr. Ana-Maria Lepadatu, Senior Researcher and Leader ofSiGeSn Group inNational Institute of Materials Physics, Romania (2012 PhD thesis)has extensive experience in the field of nanostructured materials with SiGeSn, SiGe, GeSn, Ge, Si nanocrystals/quantum dots/nanoparticles embedded in HfO2, TiO2, SiO2 from magnetron sputtering deposition and nanostructuring by thermal annealing to complex investigations: #photoelectrical properties of highlyVIS-NIR-SWIR sensitive films based on Ge,SiGe and GeSn NCs in oxides, #charge storage properties in NVMs with Ge and SiGeSnQDs in HfO2, #ferroelectric phase formation of HfO2and #Raman spectroscopy and correlation with morphology and structure. She studies photoelectrical transport mechanisms in films of Si-Ge-Sn NCs in oxides and models the electron energy structure of QDs. She co-authored 60 ISI publications, 5 book chapters, 2 patents and 5 patent applications on NVMs and optical sensors with recognition at International Exhibitions of Research, Innovations and Inventions (Silver Medal - ProInvent 2021, ProInvent Medal2019). She coordinated national project Young Teams “SiGeSn nanocrystals with charge storage properties at nanoscale” (2019-2021)and was Key Person in M-ERA.NET projects PhotoNanoP/2016-2018“High photoconductive oxide films functionalized with GeSi nanoparticles for environmental applications’ and GESNAPHOTO/2016-2019“Nano-structured GeSn coatings for photonics”. Prof. Mihail Lucian Pascu is born in Bucharest, Romania and graduated from the Physics Faculty, University of Bucharest in 1968. He performed a PhD stage at the University of Texas at Dallas (USA) and obtained the PhD in Optics, Lasers and Plasma Physics from the University of Bucharest in 1975. He was Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Physics and Technology of Radiation Devices since 1977 where he was Director between 1983 and 1990; he was at the same time member of the Scientific Council of the Physics Faculty of the University of Bucharest and of the Executive Committee of the Central Institute for Physics. He is currently Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics and Associated Professor at the Physics Faculty of the University of Bucharest where he heads PhD in Optics, Laser and Spectroscopy. He worked as Science Officer at the European Commission DG RTD serving at COST Secretariat for the field Medicine and Health between 2001 – 2004; he was Science Officer of the European Science Foundation at the COST Office between 2004 and 2006 responsible for Biomedicine and Molecular Biosciences. He published more than 120 papers, obtained 10 patents and presented more than 350invited papers or communications at national and international conferences. He co-authored two books. He is member of 12 national or international societies. He is member of five COST European networks in physics or biomedicine and biomedical sciences and liaison expert between COST BMBS Domain Committee and ESF PESC Standing Committee. Prof. Qingli Li (SM’18) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and engineering from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in pattern recognition and intelligent system from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2006. From 2012 to 2013, he was a visiting scholar at Medical Center, Columbia University, New York, USA. He is currently with the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Multidimensional Information Processing, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China. He is the author or coauthor of more than 100 papers published in various international journals and conference proceedings and Principle Investigator (PI) for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects. His research interests include molecular imaging, biomedical optics, and pattern recognition. He is a senior member of IEEE and member of SPIE. He is an editorial board member of International Journal of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery.

Prof. Yang Li, graduated from Harbin Institute of technology with a Ph.D. degree, is currently working in Liaoning Petrochemical University. He mainly engaged in renewable energy utilization, oil and gas storage and transportation process analysis, high temperature coupled heat transfer, solar thermal conversion, and light-heat-radiation transfer. He presided over one project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project of Young Scientific and Technological talents of Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, and one research fund for Introducing Talents. He participated in one key project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and many enterprise projects. He published more than 20 academic papers, of which 16 were included in SCI, with a cumulative IF>70 and more than 110 citations in SCI. Joo has over 15 years' experience in illumination optical system design and laser application. Joo has undertaken various studies of a laser fabrication engineering and design and manufacturing of plastic optics related to Solid Sate Lighting (SSL). His research spectrum is centered on core technology in mechatronics and applying to SSL and varied from general lighting to automotive and laser machining. Soo-Young Park is a professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at the Kyungpook National University (KNU). He obtained his PhD degree from the Department of Macromolecular Science at the Case Western Reserve University in 1998, and joined in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at the KNU in 2002 as a professor. He is currently a director of Polymeric Nano Materials Laboratory (PNML). Debora Milori holds bachelor's and doctoral degrees in Physics from the Physics Institute of São Carlos - University of São Paulo (USP). Her specialization was in atomic physics and photonic techniques. Since 2001 she has had a permanent position as a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) at Instrumentation Unit, São Carlos / SP. Currently, she is the Deputy Head of Technology Transfer in this Unit, which includes an innovation and business agenda with private companies. Her research area at Embrapa is optics and photonics applied to agriculture and the environment. In 2021, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation and Embrapa created the National Laboratory of Agri-photonics, which is under her coordination. She works with developing methods, sensors, and equipment for soil, plant, fertilizer, and food analysis. She established several international cooperations with institutions in Europe and the USA during her research activities. She has authored/co-authored over 500 papers published in refereed professional journals and national and international conferences with more than 4500 citations, he filled six patents, and his H-index is 32.

Jiansheng Wang received her BS degree in communication engineering from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China, in 2019. Karlheinz Blankenbach has three decades of experience in displays and LEDs. After a successful career in the industry (display electronics, LCDs) he was appointed in 1995 to full professor at Pforzheim University, Germany, where he founded the university’s Display Lab. His main R&D activities are display topics such as optical measurements, display systems, evaluations, HMI, and LEDs, as well as display hardware and software. Karlheinz has (co-) authored more than 200 papers and chapters in books. He is a member of the SPIE and provided several contributions and courses at Photonics West. He is as well member of the Society for Information Display and serves as chairman (incl. honorary) of the Displayforum (DFF).

Dr. CR Bhatt is currently a research scientist at US Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory through LEIDOS. Dr. Bhatt completed his PhD and MS in applied physics from Mississippi State University USA and master’s in physics from Tribhuvan University Nepal. During his PhD, he received Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) fellowship and later post-doctoral fellowship to work at National Laboratory. Dr. Bhatt worked as a R & D Scientist for AECOM for some time and then he was appointed as a research scientist at National Energy Technology Laboratory through LEIDOS in 2018. Dr. Guohua Xie obtained his Ph.D. degree from Jilin University (China) in 2011, working on OLED microdisplays. From August 2011, Dr. Xie carried out his postdoctoral research at TU Dresden (Germany), sponsored by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, investigating the stability of OLEDs. From January 2013 to January 2015, Dr. Xie worked for an OLED-based interdisciplinary project of structured light beams from OLEDs at the Organic Semiconductor Center of the University of St Andrews (UK). Since January 2015, he has been serving as an associate professor at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences of Wuhan University (China), focusing on the interdisciplinary research of solution-processed organic optoelectronic materials and devices. Dr. Xie has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications with an H-index of 46 and contributed to three edited book chapters on organic optoelectronics. In 2020, Dr. Xie has been admitted as a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. Currently, Dr. Xie is a guest editor respectively for “Frontiers in Chemistry”, “Molecules” and “International Journal of Molecular Sciences”. Meanwhile, he also serves as a member of Youth Editorial Board respectively for “Chinese Journal of Luminescence”, “SmartMat” and “The Innovation”.

Christopher Stolz has been in the Laser Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) since 1989 in both the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) Program and currently the National Ignition Facility (NIF) Program. In addition to running the Optics Supply group for NIF and Photon Sciences, he is also actively researching high-power laser optical interference coatings. Chris has served as a cochair or program chair for numerous conferences including SPIE Laser-Induced Damage in Optical Materials and Optica Optical Interference Coatings. In 2008 he launched the annual International Thin Film Laser Damage competition at the SPIE Laser Damage conference. He has coauthored over 100 journal and proceeding articles and 2 book chapters. Tomáš Šikola is Professor of applied physics at the Brno University of Technology (BUT, Czech Republic), director of “Institute of Physical Engineering” (BUT, Czech Republic), coordinator of CEITEC “Advanced Nanotechnologies and Microtechnologies” research program and leader of “Fabrication and Characterisation of Nanostructures” research group there. His present research interests are in nanoscale science, fabrication of nanostructures and investigation of their functional properties, plasmonics and development of analytical and measurement methods and instruments. Prof. Šikola is a respected expert in the fields of preparation and characterization of nanoscale structures. He has authored and co-authored over 60 scientific publications, was the principal organizer of 7 international summer schools on “Physics at nanoscale”, the member of advisory committees to universities, professional societies and international conferences, and the Councilor of the Czech Republic in the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA). Dr. Nirmala Kandadai joined Boise State University as Assistant Professor in September 2019. She completed her PhD from University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Her PhD work investigated the interaction of high intensity laser with molecular gas clusters and the stability of the plasma generated. After her PhD, she worked for a short duration as a post doctoral fellow at University of Texas at Austin working on improving the contrast of a 1 PW laser system. After that she joined National Energetics, Austin Texas as a Laser Scientist. At National Energetics, she lead her team in designing and building high power ultra fast laser systems, which included successfully building the front end of a10 PW laser system for European Union’s Extreme Light Infrastructure Beamlines facility (ELI-Beamlines). At Boise state university, she joined as an Assistant Research faculty in 2016. She is the director of Fiber optics Lasers and Integrated photonics group (FLAIR). Her work involves creating optical fiber sensors in harsh environments. Currently she is working with Idaho National Lab in creating optical sensors that can survive in pile. She is also working with coherent optical fiber bundle for visualization sensors and working on in pile infrared thermography for crack detection. She is also working with Prof Jim Browning and Dr. Harish Subbaraman in optimizing and understanding Plasma Jet printing. In addition to that, she is part of Nanoscale Materials & Device Group, in Material Science and Engineering. Her role involves in using ultrafast laser spectroscopy to study coherent excitonic network generated by the precise arrangement of chromophore using DNA self assembly. In addition to that Dr. Kandadai’s area of interest includes, optical fiber sensors, novel optical material, Mid IR sensors, mid IR laser, fiber laser,ultrafast laser spectroscopy, laser ablation of thin films, optical imaging and laser matter interaction.

Dr. Cremer (B.S. MIT, 1976, PhD. Electrical Engineering, U. of Maryland, 1984), chief scientist of Adelphi Technology, has a diverse experimental and theoretical background in applied physics, which includes x-ray/neutron sources, detectors, optics, bioelectric phenomena (artificial skin S.B thesis at MIT), and postdoctoral traineeship in biophysics on cellular electrofusion and electrically mediated gene transfer at University of California at San Francisco, 1984-1986. Dr. Cremer has published 43 peer-reviewed publications, 4 books on neutron and x-ray optics with Academic Press (Elsevier), and 4 issued US patents. Presently, Dr. Cremer is funded with grants for research and development of instruments for neutron spin echo, neutron radiography, neutron diffractometry, neutron small angle scattering, and gas sensors.

Prof. Hsiao-Wen Zan joined Department of Photonics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University as an assistant professor in 2003, then was promoted as an associate professor and a full professor in 2008 and 2012. With a background training in silicon semiconductor technology, Prof. Hsiao-Wen Zan well extended her expertise in novel semiconducting devices using new materials such as organic semiconductor material and sol-gel metal oxide semiconductor material. Prof. Hsiao-Wen Zan’s research activity is focused on the development of high performance transistors and sensors with nanostructures, aiming the applications in biomedical sensing. One aspect of her research was devoted to develop ultra-sensitive gas sensor based on low-cost solution-processed technology. The main objective is to realize human breath monitor to detect key biomarkers in breath and hence reflect health condition in point-of-care applications. The second aspect is related to develop high-performance transistors, particularly with nano-structure. The aim is to improve the current output, to realize simple photo-write process, and to investigate the stability of metal oxide transistors. By closely collaborating with medical doctors to do clinical trials, new health monitoring applications were demonstrated. Prof. Hsiao-Wen Zan served on the Chair of IEEE Taipei Section Sensor Council (2013-2016), representative of IEEE Sensors Council in IEEE Women in Engineering (IEEE WiE) (2012-2014), and is currently WiE Chair in IEEE Taipei Section (2019-present), associate Editor (2020-) and Editorial Board (2018-) in Semicond. Baojun Li is a Distinguished Professor and Head of Institute of Nanophotonics in Jinan University, China. He received his Ph.D from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China in 1998. After that, he worked at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, as a Postdoctoral Fellow till 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he worked at Singapore-MIT Alliance, first as a Postdoctoral Fellow, then as a Research Fellow, with Professor Soo-Jin Chua from National University of Singapore and Professor Eugene A. Fitzgerald from MIT. From April to October 2002, he worked at Institute of Materials Research and Engineering in Singapore as a Research Fellow. In 2002, he joined Sun Yat-Sen University in China as a full Professor and served as a Director for Research Laboratory for Optoelectronic Integration in State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies. From May to November 2009, he worked at University of Oxford as a senior visiting scholar with Professor Michael B. Johnston. Then, he came back to Sun Yat-Sen University as Cheung Kong Scholar Distinguished Professor and served as a Dean of School of Physics and Engineering. In July 2016, he moved to Jinan University in Guangzhou, China, where he founded Institute of Nanophotonics and currently serves as Director. In 2020, he was elected as a Fellow of Chinese Optical Society. In 2021, He has been listed as one of Highly Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier.

Mrs. Neveen G. A. Farag obtained both her bachelor degree of Electronics and Communications Engineering in 2004 (excellent with honor) and her master degree in Engineering Mathematics in 2012 (M.Sc. By thesis) from Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University in Egypt. She has been working as a lecturer of Mathematics for over 10 years and she is expecting a soon promotion into an assistant professor upon the completion of her PhD degree. Mrs. Farag is currently a PhD candidate and is working at the moment on the process of completing her doctorate degree in Engineering Mathematics. She is a potential researcher and her fields of expertise comprise, but not limited to, numerical solutions of partial differential equations, numerical analysis and scientific computing, mathematical modeling and simulations, optical fiber, and applied mathematics. Mrs. Neveen Farag has many recent publications in the field of solitons and modeling of partial differential equations. Yang Li, associate professor at Harbin Institute of Technology. He got his Ph.D degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2016, and then went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for post-doctoral research. In 2018, he was appointed as an associate professor of Harbin Institute of Technology. Anna-Lena Sahlberg is working as Assistant Professor at Lund University. She received her PhD degree at the Division of Combustion Physics at Lund University in 2016, and then worked as a Postdoc at the University of Oxford, before moving back to Lund in 2018. Her research is focused on development and application of non-linear mid-infrared laser techniques for combustion diagnostics, including laser-induced thermal grating spectroscopy (LITGS), degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) and polarization spectroscopy (PS), for sensitive, quantitative measurements of temperature and/or species concentrations.

Xun Guan (Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2016. From 2017 to 2022, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow and then a Research Professional in Center for Optics, Photonics and Lasers (COPL), Université Laval, Quebec, Canada, where he still holds adjunct professorship. He is now an assistant professor in Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Tsinghua University, China. His research interest varies in massive fields within photonics and optical communications, including transmitter and receiver subsystems, digital signal processing, photonic integrated circuits, optical wireless communications and optical fiber sensing.

Jiajun Qin received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from Department of physics at Fudan University in 2014 and 2019, respectively. During PhD career, he focused on the working mechanism of organic memory devices and photo physics of metal halide perovskites. Since 2019, He has joined Prof. Feng Gao’s group in department of physics, chemistry, and biology at Linkoping University as a postdoc. Now, his expertise covers device physics of organics, metal halide perovskites, and lead-free metal halide composites.

Yang Xuelin, received a bachelor's degree from Jilin University in 2004, a Ph.D. degree from Peking University in 2009, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo in Japan from 2009 to 2012. Currently, he is a senior engineer at the Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Research Center of Peking University, and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars. (2019). In recent years, research work has mainly focused on GaN-based power electronic materials and devices on Si substrates, such as the MOCVD epitaxial growth of Si-based GaN thick films and their heterostructures, the doping mechanism of C impurities, and the effect of defect states on the reliability of electronic devices, etc. A number of results have been achieved. Ryo Yasuhara received a Ph.D. degree from Osaka University, in 2008. After working at the Hamamatsu photonics K. K. as a researcher from 2001 to 2010, and the assistant professor from 2010 at the National institute for fusion science (NIFS), Since 2017, he has been an Associate Professor with the NIFS. Also, he is an Associate Professor with the SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies) since 2018. His research interests include magneto-optic devices, transparent ceramics, developments of UV, Visible, NIR, and MIR high-power laser systems, and applications such as laser-based plasma diagnostics.

Ronald S. Cok is the Director of Intellectual Property at X-Celeprint, Inc. , a company founded to develop and commercialize advanced micro-assembly technologies. After attending Calvin University and receiving his B.A. degree in mathematics and in physics, Ronald S. Cok studied electrical and computer science at the University of Michigan. He has worked in diverse technical areas including high-performance computing, digital cinema, imaging and display systems, internet systems, and micro-assembly. He has written over 60 technical papers, written or contributed to several books, and is a prolific inventor.

Dr. Zhe Xu is a Research Scientist and Principal Investigator of Optical Computing Group at Inspur (Beijing) Electronic Information Industry Co., Ltd. and State Key Laboratory of High-end Server & Storage Technology. His research interests are in nanophotonics and optical engineering, with an emphasis on plasmonic and dielectric nanostructures, photonic integrated circuits, optical trapping and optical forces. He received his undergraduate degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from National University of Defense Technology in 2011. He received his master’s degree in Physics from National University of Singapore in 2015. He completed his Ph.D. in Photonics and Electro-Optical Engineering from the School of Physics at University of Melbourne in 2019. There he worked with Prof. Kenneth B. Crozier on optical trapping and tracking of nanoparticles using plasmonic nanoapertures and dielectric nanoantennas. Dr. Xu has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications (first/corresponding author) including ACS Photonics, Optics Express, Optical Materials Express, AIP Advances, CLEO, OSA Frontiers in Optics, OSA Optical Sensors and Sensing Congress, OSA Advanced Photonics Congress, SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics, and SPIE Photonics Asia. He has published over 20 patents in nanophotonics and artificial intelligence and he authorized seven Chinese patents. His research has been supported by grants from the National Key R&D Program of China and the Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project of Shandong Province. He received the Achievement in Vebleo Fellow (Jr) Award in 2022, Beijing High-Level Overseas Talent Returned Program Fellowship in 2022, and Inspur Group Rising Star Award in 2021. He is a Member of the SPIE, of the Optica, of the IEEE Photonics Society, of the Chinese Optical Society (COS), of the Australian and New Zealand Optical Society (ANZOS), of the Australian Nanotechnology Network (ANN), and of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE). He is also an Optica Traveling Lecturer and a Committee Member in the Vebleo Webinar.

Chia-Ming Yang received his BS degree in electric engineering from Chang Gung University, Tao-Yuan, Taiwan, in 1999; MS degree in electronic engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, in 2001; Ph.D degree in electronic engineering from Chang Gung University in 2006. He was a department manager in Inotera Technology Inc. for DRAM device and retention optimization from 2006 to 2012. He joined the Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering in Chang Gung University in 2012 as an assistant professor and is an associate professor since 2015. He became the institute director and a professor since Feb. and Aug. 2018. His research interests include DRAM retention and VRT, VLSI and MEMS technology, biomedical and chemical sensors, gas sensor and 2D material. He holds 3 U.S. and 21 Taiwan patents and is author of 71 SCI journal and 195 conference papers.

Prof. Jung-Yao Chen received her Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University under the supervision of Prof. Wen-Chang Chen in 2016. She joined Prof. Alex Jen’s research team at University of Washington in 2015. Currently, she is the assistant professor in Dept. of Photonic of National Cheng Kung University. Her research interests are the process design, morphology analysis and optoelectronic applications of photoactive material including conjugated polymer, phosphorescent material and perovskite. Recently, Prof. Jung-Yao Chen’s research activity is focused on the developement of non-volatile photomemory.The main objective is to explore the mechanisms behind the photo-recording functionality and develope ultrafast responsive photomemory with multi-level memory behavior.

Timor Melamed was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 1964. He received the B.Sc. degree (magna cum laude) in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree from Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, in 1989 and 1997, respectively. From 1996 to 1998, he held a post-doctoral position at the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA. He is currently with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel and holds the position of the University Pro-Rector for Education. His current research interests include analytic techniques in wave theory, caustic beams, transient wave phenomena, inverse scattering, and electrodynamics.

Qiurong Yan received the B.S. degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2005, the M.S. and Ph. D. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008 and 2012, respectively. He is a professor with school of information engineer, Nanchang University and a winner of Outstanding Young Talents Project in Jiangxi Province. His research interests include single photon imaging, computational imaging, photon counting wireless communication. He has published more than 60 SCI and EI papers in important journals and academic conferences. As the first inventor, he authorized more than 20 invention patents.

His research concerns psychology, artificial intelligence, engineering, and education. His work focuses on the nexus of empirical research and industrial applications.

Neda Ghofraniha is researcher at Istituto dei Sistemi Complessi (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) in Italy and currently working in the fields of random photonics and microlasers. She has consolidated experience in nonlinear optics and nonlinear waves propagation and past experience in phase transitions in soft matter. Her main achievements are the first observation of nonlocal dispersive optical shock waves in liquids and the first experimental demonstration of the Replica Symmetry Breaking Theory, that is mentioned in the motivations of the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 to Giorgio Parisi. In addition, she realised several micron sized lasers made of biomimetic and lithographed organic materials, liquid droplets and electrospun polymer fibres.

Takahide Sakamoto received his Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2003. Currently, he is an associate professor at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests are on optical modulation, detection, and signal processing for fiber-optic telecommunications and measurements.

Cid B. de Araújo is Emeritus Professor of the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), at Recife (Brazil). He received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the UFPE and Master of Science and Doctor of Science degrees in Physics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). de Araújo was a research associate at Harvard University (Massachusetts, USA), visiting scientist at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center (New York), visiting researcher at the École Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France), the Université Paris-Nord (France), visiting researcher and invited professor at the Université d’Angers (Angers, France). His present research interests include the nonlinear optical properties of plasmonic nanocomposites, and disordered photonics (with emphasis on the Random Lasers - Physics and applications). He has authored more than 360 scientific and technical papers in international journals, 16 book chapters, and about 560 contributed and invited conference communications. He has also written for science popularization journals, bulletins of professional societies and scientific newsletters. de Araújo was a member of the Editorial Board of Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Optical Materials, and Brazilian Journal of Physics, and he has been a reviewer for various international scientific journals. Presently he is member of the Advisory Board of APL Photonics. de Araújo is Fellow of The Optical Society (OSA), Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and member of the Brazilian National Order of Scientific Merit. He was the recipient of the Galileo Galilei Award 2003 presented by the International Commission for Optics (ICO).

Guan Weipeng received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from the South China University of Technology, China, in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree. He was working with Samsung Electronics, Huawei Technologies, TP-LINK, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 research articles in prestigious international journals and conferences. He was technical consultant for several companies, such as TCL. He is also the inventor of more than 20 granted patents. His research interests include robotics, event-based VO/VIO/SLAM, visible light positioning and so on.

YuHuang Wang is a professor of chemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from Rice University in 2005 under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Richard E. Smalley and did his postdoctoral studies with Chad A. Mirkin at Northwestern University before joining the Maryland faculty in 2008. His research group focuses on chemical physics and the synthesis of sp3 quantum defects (also known as organic color centers) to understand and control the coupling of electrons, excitons, phonons, and spin at atomic defects. They also develop instrumentation, methodologies, and platform technologies to address fundamental challenges in energy, biomedical, and quantum technologies. Dr. Wang is the author of more than 120 manuscripts and 25 patents and applications in these areas. His research work has been featured on 17 journal covers and by more than 170 news and perspectives in journals and news media, including Nature, Science, Scientific American, New Scientist, MIT Technology Review, The Washington Post, The New York Times, NBC, BBC, The Times, and many others. He has received several awards, including a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation and the Kirwan Faculty Research and Scholarship Prize from the University of Maryland. Dr. Wang is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Yung-Chun Lee received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, respectively, from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, and the Ph.D. degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University, USA, in 1994. From 1994 to 1996, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Engineering and Applied Physics, Cornel University, USA. After working for industry for one year, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1997 and is now a distinguished professor. His research interests include solid mechanics, ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation, laser micromachining, nano-imprinting lithography, contact printing lithography, roller imprinting, and maskless lithography based on digital light processing. He was awarded twice (2017, 2020) the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan.
