Kader Zaidat is an associate professor in materials science at Grenoble Institute of Technologies (Grenoble-INP) in France. He was the French secretary of the French Crystal growth group (GFCC) from 2007 to 2012 and representant of the crystal growth community in the board of the French crystallography association (AFC) from 2016 to 2021. In parallel, he was member of the international board of Crystal growth from 2007. His research is devoted to the crystal growth processes from the liquid phase. His philosophy is based on the comparison of the numerical and experimental tools in order to understand the physico-chemistry phenomena from atomic to process scale. He supervised 11 theses and 13 post-docs in crystal growth for different materials (metallic, semi-conductor, oxide). In this plenary talk, he will present the new trends in single crystal growth.

David has a 33-year career in research in academia, industry and government research laboratories in Canada, Japan and Australia. He was with the University of Sydney for over 15 years, the last 10 of which were with the ARC Centre of Excellence CUDOS. David still holds an honorary Professorial Fellow position with the University of Sydney. Professor Moss has over 520 publications including numerous articles in Nature family journals and conference papers with around 7000 citations and an h-index of 46. He is leading extensive international research networks in nanophotonics and other areas. David has been highly successful at winning ARC competitive research grants and has won a number of notable awards for his research including the 2011 Australian Museum Award and the Google Eureka Science Prize for Innovation. David is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and the IEEE.

Mukunda Das is Honorary Professor in Theoretical Physics. He is Fellow of American Physical Society, Institute of Physics (UK) and Australian Institute of Physics. His research interest concerns the fundamental aspects of condensed matter, which include Superconductivity, Vortex Matter, Bose-Einstein Condensation, Meso- and Nanoscopic Systems, Strongly Correlated Electrons, Density Functional Theory and Theory of Disordered States. He is also interested in the professional ethics, an important subject of philosophy. He has been member of Editorial Board of many International Journals, namely- J. Gerhard Klimeck is an Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty at Purdue University and leads two research centers in Purdue's Discovery Park. He helped to create nanoHUB.org which now serves over 2.0 million users globally. Previously he worked with Texas Instruments and NASA/JPL/Caltech. His research interest is in computational nanoelectronics, high performance computing, and data analytics. NEMO, the nanoelectronic modeling software built in his research group established the state-of-the-art in atomistic quantum transport modeling. NEMO is now being used at Intel for advanced transistor designs and commercialized. He published over 525 printed scientific articles that resulted in over 20,000 citations and an h-index of 69 in Google scholar. He is a fellow of the Institute of Physics (IOP), a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), a Fellow of IEEE, a Fellow of AAAS and a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung (Germany). Together with physicist Michelle Simmons of the University of New South Wales, he "devised a way to make a single-atom transistor", which ranked #29 top invention of 2013 by Discover Magazine. In 2020 the nanoHUB team was awarded a R&D 100 award for “nanoHUB: Democratizing Learning and Research”. Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interests include intelligent photonics, optical communications and networking, optical interconnect, detection, imaging and display technology, integrated photonics, free-space and fiber optics. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >9,000 citations, four edited books, >50 issued or pending patents, >100 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial, >10 plenary and >30 keynote talks). Dr. Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He has studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and studied on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has been retired on November 28, 2019, due to the age limit of 67, following academic life of 45 years. He published over 80 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 120 conferences and symposia in international and national level as participant, invited speaker or keynote speaker with contributions of oral or poster. He served the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last seven years (2014 - 2020) over 80 conferences as Keynote Speaker and Conference Co-Chair organized by different companies. He supervised 5 PhD- theses and 3 M.Sc- theses. Dr. Adiguzel served his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University, in 1999-2004. He received a certificate awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. Ali Kemal Havare has been a research scientist at Photoelectronics Lab in the department of Electrical-Electronic Engineering at Toros University since 2012. He holds the MSc and PhD in Mathematical Physics from Mersin University and in Energy from the Solar Energy Institute at Ege University, respectively. He studied at University Illinois at Chicago in the Microphysics Lab. on X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy during the PhD. Prof. Wenbo Mi received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Department of Physics from Tianjin University in 2001, 2004 and 2006, respectively. Then he became an assistant professor at Department of Physics, Tianjin University and was promoted as full Professor from 2013. He was the visiting scholar in 2008 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, then he became a Postdoc Fellow in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in 2010. His research interests mainly focus on the theoretical design, fabrication and physical properties of the low-dimensional magnetic materials.

Prof. Guosong Wu received his PhD in materials processing engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China in 2007. He has worked as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, City University of Hong Kong and Kwangwoon University (South Korea) for about 10 years before he joined Hohai University as a full professor. He is interested in surface engineering, corrosion science, structural materials and plasma related technologies. So far, Prof. Wu has published more than 100 academic papers that have been cited over 3000 times (H-index=37) according to Scopus and has delivered more than 30 invited talks at academic conferences. He is listed among the Top 2% of the World's Most Highly Cited Scientists (Career-long Impact: 2020,2021; Single Year Impact: 2019-2021) according to metrics compiled by Stanford University. Rami Ahmad El-Nabulsi holds a PhD in Particle Physics, Mathematical Physics and Modeling from Provence University (currently Aix-Marseille University), France and a diploma of advanced studies in Plasma Physics and Radiation Astrophysics from the same institution. He worked with different worldwide research departments in UK, South Korea, China, Greece, Thailand, India, etc. and he is currently affiliated to Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He is the author of more than 295 peer-reviewed papers in peer-refereed reputed journals and a reviewer for more than 100 scientific journals. His research ranges from applied mathematics to theoretical physics including nonlinear dynamical systems, space and astrophysics, general relativity and geometrical physics, physics and chemistry of solids, plasma MHD, neutronics and nuclear reactors, superconductivity and magnetic materials among others.

Dr. Sakineh Chabi joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in August 2018. She received her PhD in Materials Engineering from University of Exeter in 2015. During her PhD studies, she worked on graphene related 2D and 3D materials. Dr. Jackson continued his studies and conducted research at Liverpool gaining a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently became materials technologist and technical manager at Unicorn Abrasives’ Central Research and Development Laboratory.In 2002, Dr. Jackson became associate professor at Tennessee Technological University and a faculty associate at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He continued his research, and teaching and engagement activities, by joining Purdue University in 2004 becoming Associate Department Head for Research in 2010. For his applied research, he was awarded the University Faculty Scholarship at Purdue and subsequently joined Saint-Gobain Corporation as Research Leader. In 2011, he created a new product development strategy for the field of machining science. After working as a Department Chair of Mechanical Engineering Technology at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Jackson began his duties as Professor and Department Head of Engineering Technology at K-State Salina on July 1, 2013. He is a McCune and Middlekauff Endowed Chair at Kansas State University, Salina. Dr. Jackson’s focus for the Engineering Technology is to engage with the local community in ways that will increase economic growth and prepare the next generation of engineers.

Norbert M. Nemes is an experimental solid state physicist who obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002 and after postdoctoral stays in the NIST Center for Neutron Research and also the Materials Science Institute of Madrid he is a Professor of Applied Physics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, one of the largest and oldest Spanish universities. He is Director of the Magnetometry and High Pressure Synthesis laboratories. He has published over 100 research papers with an h-index of 23 on topics ranging from materials of reduced dimensions, superconductors, spintronics and magnetic anisotropy, multifunctional materials (magnetoelectric coupling), and in the last years on thermoelectrics.
